[ there are some nights where leona kingscholar, award winning lazy ass, can't fall asleep. maybe it's the specific kind of fabric softener that ruggie uses or doesn't use? maybe it's the wind or lack thereof that doesn't whistle through his open windows and doesn't make that kind of ambient sound that makes it easier for him to drift off. there could be a number of factors but regardless of which one is affecting the most, it's still keeping him from sleeping.

so on this one night in particular, some time after his most memorable of train rides with that fae... he's walking out of the savanaclaw dorm proper and out into the sands. despite being in their own dimension, he's fully aware of how different it is compared to his home. it's close. yet.

but he doesn't expect to see someone else out in the open sands, not that far from the dorm. as he recognizes that smaller shape, the beastman goes from being apprehensive to feeling relief. ]

Yo. Ya know, if you were gonna come visit... should've just let me know. Could've come and got you personally.

[ one hand on his hip as he leans to that same side, and leona raises an eyebrow. ]

leona wouldn't admit this to anyone, even lilia, but after the first time they consummated their relationship? he changed. probably for the better. no longer was leona spending his time solely in the campus greenhouse or lying around in his room. he would end up going to the diasomnia dorm instead. while he didn't shirk his housewarden duties, he found nothing really kept him from doing what he normally did while also spending that time in lilia's room or even in their dorm's common area. was it a strange sight to see leona accompanying the fae? yes. he dismissed those incredulous stares that he received. they'd never get used to seeing him there.

it also meant he had to get used to being around malleus more, but. eh. it was worth it. and they were able to get a bigger bed for lilia, too. for obvious reasons. ones that no one really wanted to acknowledge because it was awkward but! hey. adjustments for everyone. ]

How much longer are you gonna play that game?
