Full of good food, Cater is happy to mostly enjoy the silence that comes with Rayne's presence. He still talks a little, reminisces about how fun the day was, and that's what reminds him, as they're just heading into the dormitory.

"Hey, I forgot to ask: what did you buy in the curio shop?"

He figures it'll be their last bit of conversation before they reach his dorm room and put a cap on the day as a whole. There's no real reason that he picked it as a topic, the thought just came into Cater's head and there seemed no harm in asking. Maybe he'd learn something else about Rayne's interests, before they called it a night.
